SAN ANTONIO RANKED 1ST IN TEXAS, 7TH IN NATION FOR SOLAR ENERGY CAPACITY

In 2018 solar energy capacity in San Antonio grew to a combined capacity of 186.9 megawatts and the Alamo City is now ranked 7th highest in the United States and number 1 in Texas, according to Environment Texas Research and Policy Center's new report. Today, the City of San Antonio and CPS Energy were recognized by Emma Pabst, Clean Energy Associate at Environment Texas for this growth. Environment Texas joined CPS Energy and Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales to celebrate the achievement at Palm Heights Community Center located on the city's southwest side. The community center is just one of the City of San Antonio's facilities participating in CPS Energy's Solar Host program. It is one of seven City of San Antonio facilities that participates in the program that provides a bill credit based on solar output.
