Barrette Outdoor Living Generates Massive Power with Newly Installed Solar Panels

After almost a year of planning and months of design, Barrette Outdoor Living (BOL) has completed the installation of a rooftop solar array on their 400,000 square foot Galloway, New Jersey manufacturing facility making it one of the area's largest solar projects. This will be the first BOL plant to undergo the transition to solar power with plans to replicate this project at their Brooksville, Florida location later this year.

Portugal’s Proposed 1GW Solar Energy System to Be Supported by Tesla Batteries

Tesla batteries will now be used by Sunshining, a subsidiary of Spanish-Portuguese solar developer Prosalia for its planned 1GigaWatt (GW) solar system in Alentejo, Santiago do Cacém. The proposed project, which needs an investment of €1 billion approximately, is awaiting the results of its environmental evaluation according to the Câmara Municipal de Santiago do Cacém. If the plan gets approved, Sunshining’s THSiS plant with a 1GW battery could become one of Europe’s largest battery-powered plants. Tesla reported a substantial rise in its energy deployments between 2019 and 2020. In 2020 alone, there was an 83% increase, i.e. total battery deployments exceeded 3GW in comparison to 2019. Taking into consideration the power the THSiS plant would generate, there is a possibility the plant could use Tesla Megapacks. Moss Landing, California, also utilizes the megapacks 182.5MW/730MWh system for Tesla and PG&E’s Moss Landing battery installation. The Moss Landing battery installation will require around 250 plus Megapacks which will accumulate energy produced by both wind and solar. Sunshining’s project of 1GW, if approved, would need far more batteries than Moss Landing.
