Dominion Energy to Add Largest Project to Virginia Solar Fleet

American power and energy company Dominion Energy is adding a 150 MW solar facility in Prince George County, Virginia. Also, this Fort Powhatan solar facility is the Richmond-headquartered company’s largest solar portfolio in Virginia. Further, this solar facility is expected to be operational in 2021 and will provide up to 150 MW clean power. As per the deal, the company will own and operate this solar facility and will provide energy and renewable energy certificates (RECs) to a data center under a long-term agreement. Currently, it has over 40 solar facilities aggregating over 1.5 GW of solar power generation operational or under development in Virginia. With this new addition, the company has achieved 45 percent of its goal of having 3 GW target of new wind and solar energy in operation or under development in Virginia by 2022. In another significant development, the board of directors of the company has declared a quarterly dividend of 91.75 cents per share of common stock.
