DTE Energy to set up three more wind farms in Michigan

DTE Energy to set up three more wind farms in Michigan DTE Energy has been part of an ongoing controversy over the siting of wind turbines in northwestern Branch County. Now the company has announced it is planning to buy three new Michigan wind farms. The company announced last week that the Michigan Public Services Commission has given conditional approval for its proposed purchase of the wind farms. The Detroit News reports two of the wind farms are in Isabella County, the other is in Delta County in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. DTE Energy says the wind farms will help the company increase its renewable energy portfolio by nearly 50 percent and that the new facilities will help it power 107,000 homes.
