EDF Renewables wins long-term deal for 170-MW solar project in NY

EDF Renewables North America has been awarded a long-term contract from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for its 170-MW Morris Ridge solar project under the state’s second large-scale renewables solicitation. The competition was launched in April 2018 in support of New York’s goal of sourcing 70% of its electricity from renewables by 2030. The competitive round targeted up to 20 projects, possibly paired with battery storage capacity, which can add capacity capable of producing 1.5 million MWh of renewable electricity per year.
