GAF Energy's Timberline Solar Roof Obtains Standard Approval

GAF Energy, a Standard Industries company for solar roofing, has recently obtained approval from Los Angeles County for its Timberline Solar roof installation in buildings and residential areas. After a multi-month evaluation of the Research Section of the Department of Public Works Building and Safety Division, it got approval.

The review confirmed that Timberline Solar satisfies all the conditions of the County's 2023 Codes for Electrical, Residential, Building, Green Building, and Existing Building, as well as the 2022 Building Energy Efficiency Standards. Launched in 2022, it gains certification of UL 7103 as 'a Building-Integrated Photovoltaic Roof Covering'. In addition, it earns a Class A fire rating under UL 790 and ASTM E108, establishing its standard in fire resistance. The company produces and assembles its products like Timberline Solar at its R&D and manufacturing facility in San Jose, California.

The Timberline Solar Energy Shingle (ES) transforms traditional shingles with innovation to create an attractive look. In addition, it fulfills the third-party safety standards for both the roofing and solar energy sectors. This innovative solar roof received more than 30 awards and honors for design and innovation.

Puget Sound Energy and Invenergy Partner to Advance Washington's Clean Energy Transition

Puget Sound Energy (PSE), Washington state's largest utility, and Invenergy, the leading privately-held developer, owner and operator of sustainable energy solutions, announced the signing of a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) between PSE and Invenergy's Vantage Wind Energy Center in Ellensburg, Washington. The agreement enables PSE to acquire 90 MW of clean energy per year, beginning in 2025.
