IEA to build 148-MW wind farm for RWE Renewables Americas

Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives Inc (NASDAQ:IEA), or IEA, has received an order from a unit of Germany’s RWE AG (ETR:RWE) to build a 148-MW wind park in Oklahoma. The deal from developer RWE Renewables Americas LLC is worth around USD 50 million (EUR 45.2m), IEA said on Wednesday. Under its terms, the contractor will install 60 GE turbines at a site in Woodward County, in the northwestern part of the state, which are slated to begin operations by December 2020. IEA plans to begin work on the so-called Boiling Springs project this month, with its tasks including the construction of project roads, installation of wind turbine foundations, the medium-voltage (MV) collection system, a 138-kV substation and a transmission line. This will be RWE Renewables’ first project in the Southwest Power Pool, according to the statement.
