Nordex Receives 269 MW Order for Wind Project in the US

The Nordex Group has bagged another large order for the N149 from the Delta4000 series. The order includes a total of 56 turbines as well as a two-year service contract for a 269 MW wind project in the United States (US). Installation of the project in the North of the USA is scheduled to start in summer 2020. The machines are to be operated in the 4.8 MW mode and are to be supplied in the “Cold Climate” version. This option offers an extended operating range enabling the turbines to operate down to an outside temperature of -30 degrees Celsius. Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group said that after recording significant new business with its N149/4.0-4.5 in the USA in the course of this year, the new order underlines the continuing strong demand from customers for its turbines of the Delta4000 generation. In July, the wind energy major had announced that keeping in line with its strong order intake performance over recent quarters, it has received orders for over 2 GW of wind turbines in the second quarter of 2019. The company revealed that in the three month period between April and June, customers ordered turbines with a total output of 2,003.3-megawatts (MW) for wind farm projects in 12 countries.
