Terna Energy Expands its Wind Portfolio in Texas by 358 MW

Terna Energy has announced the completion of two significant investments in the Texas area, leading to a significant strengthening of its wind farm portfolio in the US. The first announcement was made regarding the commercial operations on the 158 megawatts (MW) Gopher Creek Wind Energy project (formerly Fluvanna II), which represents the second phase of the 313 MW Fluvanna Wind Energy Project. Tri Global Energy (TGE), a leading wind developer in the region, originated and developed the Fluvanna Wind Energy Project and sold the project to Terna in 2016. TGE has since continued supporting landowner and community relations. Comprised of nearly 40,400 leased acres with 51 landowners, the Fluvanna Wind Energy Project has been constructed in two phases, with the 155 MW first phase achieving operational status in 2017. The construction work on the “Gopher Creek” (Fluvanna 2) wind farm began in the second half of 2018 and it was completed within the set time schedule.
