US Solar Fund set for US$250mln London IPO next month

An investment company is looking to London’s institutions to arm it with a US$250mln war chest it can use to invest heavily in the “rapidly growing” US solar energy market. US Solar Fund PLC, which is looking to float on the London Stock Exchange next month, is targeting an annual dividend of 5.5% once all its assets are operational. That shouldn’t take longer than a year, but even while investors wait for things to get going, USF is still aiming for a dividend yield of 2-3% - much more than what most savings accounts are offering.
