PRWeb | December 09, 2019
Billionaire Founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, has recently taken the initiative to move Amazon in a more renewable direction with large scale solar energy projects in Virginia, Illinois, and Spain. These projects will work in addition to the 70 plus renewable energy projects Amazon has around the globe. The plan for the projects is to create massive solar farms which will be used to power Amazon Web Services data centers and Amazon fulfillment centers with enough power generated to power 67,000 homes (700,000 megawatt-hours of energy per year). The purpose of the projects, announced Tuesday, is an effort to move the company toward 80 percent renewable energy by 2024, a stepping stone to becoming 100 percent renewable by 2030.
