NYC's Javits Center Microgrid Project

rooftop solar project
In a highly complex environment, Calibrant Energy, Siemens Smart Infrastructure and the New York Power Authority, were able to advance the largest rooftop solar project in Manhattan that includes a 3.5MW battery and advanced microgrid controls.

The project is fully funded by Calibrant Energy — backed by Siemens Financial Services and Macquarie’s Green Investment Group — via an “As a Service” agreement. In addition to providing the Javits Center demand savings, the battery is also helping to alleviate ConEdison’s most congested network. The custom solar canopy system was designed specifically to accommodate the unique characteristics of one of the largest green roofs in the U.S.
