Wind & Solar Systems

Join HOMER Energy CEO Dr. Peter Lilienthal and Alex De Broe, CEO of Xant Wind Power to examine HOMER Pro use cases combining wind and solar, which are often complimentary in hybrid renewable distributed energy systems. XANT is a manufacturer of midsize (50-500kW) turbines for the microgrid and off-grid markets.

Single axis tracker solution to improve wind stability

pv magazine

The three most important influence parameters to achieve the longest life cycle of a solar tracking system are standard structural design, corrosion and wind stability. Can the tracker system be bankable for 30 years? And how does the wind stability relate to reliability? In this pv magazine webinar, we will assess the impact of wind stability on bankability, and deep dive into a solution to improve wind stability. Our webinar partner, IDEEMATEC will present their unique rope system as the solution, which increases reliability. The result: through structural measures the risk of torsional galloping is more or less eliminated.

Recapping the Australian utility-scale solar market and O&M: Best practices for optimum performance

solarplaza

It is not a secret that the Australian solar market is growing by leaps and bounds; 81% of the top 35 operational projects were connected only in the year 2018. Now is the right time to take stock of how the market has developed, and plan ahead to ensure the long-term success and bankability of Australian solar projects. As a preparation for the inaugural edition of Solar Asset Management Australia, in cooperation with our partner Smart Energy Council, we have joined forces with industry experts from Green Energy Markets (Tristan Edis, Director Analysis & Advisory) and Canadian Solar (Simon Chau, O&M Sales Manager) to bring you a session on the most pressing topics and challenges posed for utility-scale solar in Australia.

Assessing Wind Energy Potential with the New Global Wind Atlas

Clean Energy Solutions

The Clean Energy Solutions Center, in partnership with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), hosted this webinar on Assessing Wind Energy Potential with the New Global Wind Atlas. The webinar provided an overview, a demonstration and technical information about the newly released Global Wind Atlas—a new data set and suite of tools available via the IRENA Global Atlas platform that provides freely available very high-resolution worldwide wind data for the first time.Prior to the release of the Global Wind Atlas, wind data were only available at 10-kilometer resolution, which resulted in underestimations, increased risk and increased costs for wind energy developers. The Global Wind Atlas provides wind resource data at one-kilometer resolution. It was developed using microscale modelling to capture small scale wind variability, allowing for better estimates of the aggregated wind resources.
