ALAMO GROUP TARGETS 50% GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS REDUCTION BY 2030

Alamo Group Inc. (NYSE: ALG) announced today a 2030 target to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% as compared to its 2019 base year.  This target covers Scope 1 & 2 emissions as defined in The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standards published by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and World Resources Institute.  Additional information regarding the Company's sustainability goals and actual emissions for the past three years will be included in its forthcoming 2021 Sustainability Report.

"We are pleased to announce an initial 2030 target for reducing our Company's greenhouse gas emissions. Setting meaningful Scope1 & 2 GHG emissions goals is an   important step in the right direction.  Since 2019, our Company has reduced, in absolute terms, its total energy consumption by about 9%, and we anticipate that we will further reduce it by an additional 30% by 2030.  More efficient use of energy, which accounts for 97% of our GHG emissions, will be a primary driver toward achieving our 2030 emissions goal. Investments in LED lighting and energy management systems, as well as energy efficient welding, laser cutting, and air compression equipment have been, and are expected to be, the major contributors in this effort.  Installing more efficient heating systems and other building improvements to reduce winter heat loss are also expected to produce significant favorable impacts."

Solar FlexRack Selected by Tucson Electric Power for 15 MW Community Solar Project in Arizona

Solar FlexRack announced it has provided dependable, cost-effective solutions and engineering expertise to Tucson Electric Power (TEP) for an innovative community solar project in southern Arizona. TEP's 15 megawatt (MW) Raptor Ridge solar array was commissioned this month at a 100-acre site in Tucson, Arizona. The project utilizes Solar FlexRack's single-axis trackers to support 35,500 bifacial modules, which increase energy production by up to 30 percent compared to monofacial modules. The new array will supply power for the TEP GoSolar Home program, which provides a renewable energy option for renters and homeowners, including those whose rooftops are shaded by trees or nearby buildings. Participants can buy clean solar energy without installation or equipment maintenance costs. We selected Solar FlexRack from many solar racking options because of their engineering expertise and solar tracker architecture with minimal backside shading design, well suited for bifacial modules. In a challenging market environment where supply chain issues have delayed other large solar projects, Solar FlexRack demonstrated their commitment to customer service by honoring agreements and delivering product on time. LG Energy Solution Expands Joint Research Projects to Europe

LG Energy Solution Expands Joint Research Projects to Europe

LG Energy Solution (LGES; 373220) is expanding its joint battery research programs with leading institutions across the world as it aims to drive next-generation battery technology amid the fast-changing industry. LGES today announced that it is partnering up with academic organizations in Germany. The company will be working with Münster Electrochemical Energy Technology (MEET) of University of Münster and Helmholtz Institute Münster (HI MS) of Forschungszentrum Jülich. These institutions will take part in a joint battery research program funded by LGES's Frontier Research Laboratory (FRL). Researchers from all three parties (LGES, MEET and HI MS) will be working on a research for the next generation lithium-ion battery technology using green materials and processes. In particular, the joint research team will be looking into ways to boost battery cell performance including its energy density and cycle life. Through its FRL programs, LG Energy Solution has been leading the industry by continuously driving battery-related studies with prestigious academia across the world. LG Energy Solution first established the FRL program with the University of California San Diego to develop a new type of an all-solid-state battery by putting together a solid-state electrolyte and advanced electrode techniques. Separately, LGES started the FRL program with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), a national university, for base techniques on elements of next-generation batteries last October. LG Energy Solution said it will continue to expand its FRL program globally as it hopes to explore and preoccupy next-generation battery techniques while offering scientists to focus on battery-related researches.
