The North American unit of Italian utility Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) today announced it has started operation of the 185-MW HillTopper wind farm in the US state of Illinois. Enel Green Power North America Inc (EGPNA) built HillTopper in Logan County at a total cost of USD 325 million (EUR 286m). The facility will operate under three separate power purchase agreements (PPAs). Financial information and news company Bloomberg LP will buy the electricity generated by a 17-MW portion of the wind park so it could achieve its 100% renewable energy goal by 2025.
