Leviton Introduces New Smart Evr-Green Electric Vehicle Charging Station for Fast, DC Charging

Leviton today announced the launch of the Evr-Green DC charging station, the latest expansion to its portfolio of electric vehicle (EV) supply equipment. Ideal for rest stops, retail locations and other commercial and public applications, the Evr-Green DC provides a smart solution for high-power direct current (DC) charging for the latest electric vehicles on the market.

The new Evr-Green charging station provides faster charging and allows people to get where they need to go without concern over duration between charges."

The Evr-Green DC station's self-contained AC to DC power conversion system  provides EVs with direct DC power, which unlike AC charging stations, does not require the vehicle to convert power. According to the Alternate Fuels Data Center of the Department of Energy, DC charging stations can average 60-80 miles of range in only 20 minutes of charging, which is more efficient when compared to  2-20 miles of range per hour for an at home Level 1 AC station or more common Level 2 AC station. Built with CCS1 and CHAdeMO charge connectors, the Evr-Green DC allows the latest EV models to charge. An LCD screen on the front of the unit allows drivers to easily interact with instructions and information, making the stations easy to use.

The new Evr-Green DC charging station also provides important benefits to station owners. Integrated with ChargePoint Networking Services, station owners can control access, set pricing, display advertising, monitor station status and generate energy usage reports, allowing them to optimize their stations and see a return on their investment. Leviton has partnered with ChargePoint, a market leader in EV charging, for over 11 years to provide customers with the latest most innovative charging solutions.

The Evr-Green DC charging station can easily integrate with other Leviton electrical infrastructure solutions, including surge protection devices and safety disconnect switches. Azure Power ties up with Siemens Gamesa for Supply of Onshore Wind Turbines

Sceye HAPS Ascend to Stratosphere Using Renewable Energy Sources

Sceye, a manufacturer of High-Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS), announced today that it reached the stratosphere with the aim of demonstrating the ability to stay over an area of operation for months at a time using renewable energy sources. The milestone test launch, which is using patented solar and battery power, puts Sceye on track to expand internet access to remote populations, monitor greenhouse gasses down to individual emitters, and detect natural disasters as they begin. The company also announced additional test flights for Q3 and Q4 2022. Sceye’s HAPS launched at 6:55 AM MDT from the company’s hangar at the Roswell International Airport. “Today’s test flight holds extraordinary potential for stratospheric discovery,” said Sceye founder and CEO, Mikkel Vestergaard Frandsen. “By maintaining position in the stratosphere for extended periods of time, we can begin realizing the promises of the stratosphere for life on Earth. Universal internet access, methane monitoring, and wildfire detection are all at our fingertips.” Today’s launch objectives were to: Test durability and performance of renewable power systems in the stratosphere Demonstrate the ability to stay over an area of operation Maintain a constant float altitude in the stratosphere Sceye’s HAPS design, in the form of an enhanced balloon, can lift a variety of payloads for connectivity, earth observation, and scientific research. Solar FlexRack Selected by Tucson Electric Power for 15 MW Community Solar Project in Arizona

Solar FlexRack announced it has provided dependable, cost-effective solutions and engineering expertise to Tucson Electric Power (TEP) for an innovative community solar project in southern Arizona. TEP's 15 megawatt (MW) Raptor Ridge solar array was commissioned this month at a 100-acre site in Tucson, Arizona. The project utilizes Solar FlexRack's single-axis trackers to support 35,500 bifacial modules, which increase energy production by up to 30 percent compared to monofacial modules. The new array will supply power for the TEP GoSolar Home program, which provides a renewable energy option for renters and homeowners, including those whose rooftops are shaded by trees or nearby buildings. Participants can buy clean solar energy without installation or equipment maintenance costs. We selected Solar FlexRack from many solar racking options because of their engineering expertise and solar tracker architecture with minimal backside shading design, well suited for bifacial modules. In a challenging market environment where supply chain issues have delayed other large solar projects, Solar FlexRack demonstrated their commitment to customer service by honoring agreements and delivering product on time.
