Pivot Energy Helps Extra Space Storage's Solar Portfolio Cross 15 MW Milestone

Pivot Energy Helps Extra Space Storage

Pivot Energy, a national renewable energy provider, is set to deploy nine additional rooftop solar systems on Extra Space Storage's facilities, adding a capacity of 946.8 kilowatts to an already expansive renewable energy portfolio that has now reached 15 megawatts (MW). The rooftop solar arrays developed as a result of this collaboration will generate approximately 20 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, enough to power over 2,500 homes.

Since 2018, Extra Space Storage and Pivot Energy have developed 150 solar projects in twelve U.S. states: California, Colorado, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Rhode Island, Michigan, Massachusetts, Missouri, and Tennessee. Each solar system produces 80 to 100 percent of the facility's energy, making Extra Space Storage a leader in promoting renewable energy.

Extra Space has been an industry pioneer in solar adoption for over a decade and was the first self-storage company to receive Nareit's award for displaying excellent and continuous sustainability practices. It has won this award three years in a row, from 2020 onwards.

Cubico Sustainable Investments acquires 121 MW of wind and solar in Uruguay

Cubico Sustainable Investments (Cubico), one of the world's largest privately-owned renewable energy companies, has completed the acquisition of three operational projects in Uruguay from Brookfield. The transaction comprises two wind farms, 52 MW Carape I and 43 MW Carape II in Maldonado; and one solar PV plant, 26 MW Alto Cielo in Artigas. This significant acquisition pushes Cubico's renewables capacity in Uruguay to over 320 MW, further consolidating the company's position as the largest individual private owner of renewable assets in the country. Javier Areitio, Head of Origination and Development at Cubico, said: "This deal aligns with one of the pillars of our global growth strategy: increasing and diversifying our installed capacity in each of our existing markets, rather than expanding our geographical footprint.
