Standard Solar buys 38-MW solar DG portfolio in New York

Standard Solar Inc said today it has acquired a 38-MW distributed generation (DG) photovoltaic (PV) portfolio in New York from local community solar developer US Light Energy, previously known as Solitude Solar. The purchased portfolio comprises six projects, including one re-purposed landfill, that will be executed on a total of 180 acres (72.8 ha) in the towns of Hunter, Clifton Park, Turin, Croghan, and Denmark. The systems will be deployed in two different utility territories across three different NYISO Load Zones and will be generating power for both residential and small commercial subscribers.
