Summit Carbon Solutions is happy to announce a new cooperation with Bushmills Ethanol, Inc. to help the company decarbonize its Atwater, Minnesota, ethanol plant.
Bushmills Ethanol joins Summit Carbon Solutions' revolutionary carbon capture and storage project as the 32nd ethanol facility. The plant commenced production in 2005 and now generates 85 million gallons of gasoline-ethanol annually.
Summit Carbon Solutions is creating the world's most significant carbon capture and storage project, permanently capturing and storing up to 12 million tons of carbon dioxide per year. The project will span Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota, and will result in a 50 percent reduction in the carbon footprint of associated ethanol units.

Summit Carbon Solutions and Bushmills Ethanol will capture and compress more than 230,000 metric tons of CO2 per year, transported to North Dakota for permanent geologic storage.
Summit Carbon Solutions recently announced significant project milestones, including submitting pipeline permit applications in Iowa and South Dakota, and has raised more than $600 million in equity capital, including recent investments from Continental Resources and Tiger Infrastructure Partners.
Summit Carbon Solutions' objective is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by connecting industrial and biogenic carbon dioxide emitters with strategic infrastructure that securely and permanently stores carbon dioxide in the Midwest of the United States.
