2018 outlook on renewable energy

February 10, 2018

Heading into 2018, the renewable energy industry faces an unusual degree of policy uncertainty, but it’s also riding some strong tailwinds. Topping the list of proposed policies or rulings contributing to uncertainty are tax reform and the solar trade case, which have slowed wind and solar deal activity as they wind their way through the federal legislative and executive branches.

24/7 Clean Power : A Climate Technology White Paper

whitePaper | June 16, 2022

Driving power sector emissions down to zero is essential to achieve a net-zero economy. The electrification of energy demand in all other sectors is only effective under the assumption that power sector emissions fall to zero. A 2017 meta analysis of power sector models found that while creating a net-zero power system based solely on variable renewable power was possible, this would require a significant overbuild of capacity to ensure reliable power supply. Power systems based solely on variable renewables were several times more expensive than systems where 80% of power was supplied by variable renewables.

The EU’s Plan to Scale Up Renewables by 2030 Implications for the Power System

whitePaper | April 12, 2022

Scaling up renewable energy (REN) is paramount for climate protection and energy security, but it is also a major industrial challenge for the European Union (EU). The REPowerEU plan requires multiplying the installed capacity for solar photovoltaic (PV) power by a factor of 3 and raising wind capacity by a factor of 2.5 in less than 8 years from now.

Adhesives Fast-Track Innovation in Solar Power Technology

whitePaper | December 13, 2022

Solar is one of the fastest-growing energy technologies in the world today, and for good reason. The fuel is “free,” and systems for converting and collecting solar energy get more efficient all the time. Installations are scalable to function in vast arrays, on individual rooftops, in community installations, and even in portable form for use in disaster recovery or other temporary applications. And because the sun delivers its energy across the entire globe, solar power does not depend on the complex supply chains – trucks, trains, and pipelines – that fossil fuels require.

Huawei Smart String ESS

whitePaper | August 19, 2022

The energy sector is responsible for more than 75% of the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions. Increasing the share of renewable energy across the different sectors of the economy is therefore a key building block to reach the EU’s energy and climate objectives: Cutting greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% (compared to 1990) by 2030 Becoming a climate neutral continent by 2050
