Renewables and nuclear see strong growth, contributing nearly 40 percent of incremental energy supplies to meet demand growth. Natural gas grows the most of any energy type, reaching a quarter of all demand. Oil will continue to play an important role in the world’s energy mix, as commercial transportation (e.g., trucking, aviation, marine) and chemicals sectors lead demand growth.
