ENERGY TRANSITION WITHIN

December 31, 2018

The outcomes of the 2015 Paris climate negotiations were a surprise to many. On top of limiting temperature rise below 2°C in this century, an even more ambitious intention was formulated to pursue efforts to stay within 1.5°C. This half degree temperature difference results in a substantial reduction of the effects of climate change. Furthermore, a lower temperature reduces the risks of positive feedback loops considerably, which could accelerate global warming even more.

Achieving Sustainable Data Center Growth

whitePaper | October 23, 2022

Data centers today are estimated to constitute nearly 2% of global energy consumption. The decade-old fear of runaway growth in data center energy consumption hasn’t occurred. Hyperscale cloud service providers (CSPs) have largely managed that concern, with the help of industry vendors, through IT virtualization and higher utilization of power and thermal management infrastructure. At the same time, enterprises, usually less efficient than CSPs at managing data centers, have transitioned many of their workloads and applications to the cloud.

24/7 Clean Power : A Climate Technology White Paper

whitePaper | June 16, 2022

Driving power sector emissions down to zero is essential to achieve a net-zero economy. The electrification of energy demand in all other sectors is only effective under the assumption that power sector emissions fall to zero. A 2017 meta analysis of power sector models found that while creating a net-zero power system based solely on variable renewable power was possible, this would require a significant overbuild of capacity to ensure reliable power supply. Power systems based solely on variable renewables were several times more expensive than systems where 80% of power was supplied by variable renewables.

Field Force Automation In The Electric Vehicles (Ev) Industry

whitePaper | May 4, 2022

Globally, electric vehicle (EV) sales grew 80% in 2021 and companies like Toyota and Volkswagen announced $170 billion of investment into electrification. Besides eliminating exhaust emissions and tackling part of the 23% of global CO2 emissions contributed by the transportation sector, EVs also provide key flexibility to the grid as we transition to a greater share of Renewable Energy (RE) supply. However, despite this global push, EVs only accounted for 7.2% of global car sales in 2021. The electric revolution still has a long way to go.
