Solar Cogeneration in Context

July 23, 2019

Solar cogeneration captures and converts up to 80% of the sun’s incident energy into both electricity and hot water within a single solar array. This integration of photovoltaic (PV) and solar hot water (SHW) technology into one system makes solar cogen by far the most costeffective and environmentally beneficial solar energy solution available for commercial and industrial scale customers. Solar cogen extracts nearly twice the energy value per area under sun as conventional solar collection infrastructure. Since a comparable initial investment yields twice the financial return and can qualify for generous PV and SHW incentives, solar cogen can provide immediate savings to customers over utility rates. Solar cogen’s environmental benefits are correspondingly greater.

Green Sky White Paper

whitePaper | January 1, 2023

Green growth and environmental protection are the key to the sustainability of the global economy. As global climate change escalates, the synergy between economic progress and natural boundary has become a worldwide issue, and carbon neutrality is now a common priority for all countries. Scientific studies carried out by the United Nations concluded that global temperature rise must be controlled to less than 1.5 ℃ if the world hopes to avert the worst effects of climate change, calling for greater urgency to achieve the Paris Agreement targets.

Breach Protection For Energy Companies

whitePaper | October 4, 2022

Business Challenge Widely classified as critical infrastructure, energy companies traditionally relied on the inaccessibility of their core technology environment to protect against threats. Today, energy companies are focusing on grid modernization, increasing connectivity between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) to provide myriad operational benefits and efficiencies. The environment has expanded to remote endpoints and networked devices used across the entire supply chain to improve collaboration, access and control. This interconnectedness, however, opens energy companies to considerable risk

Foundry For Renewables

whitePaper | July 31, 2022

Changes in climate and energy policy paired with shifts in supply and demand are causing disruptions to energy systems across the globe. Renewable energy generation is at the core of this transition. Investing and empowering the energy sector to sustainably optimize performance, production, and scale must become a transformational effort to innovate for the future. Data is at the heart of this revolution. Renewable power generation is highly dependent on weather and site conditions, which are everchanging, and the process outputs large-scale data that is often difficult to integrate, visualize, or leverage.

Electricity Resource Compensation Under a NetZero Future

whitePaper | September 15, 2022

Over the past decade, state governments, local municipalities, and large corporations have increased momentum for the adoption of net zero carbon policies, and with the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act in August 2022 that will provide hundreds of billions of dollars of investment in clean energy, that net zero carbon future now looks more achievable. E3 has been at the forefront of analyzing possible decarbonization pathways across North America. While there are multiple potential pathways on the road to net zero, it will ultimately result in a fundamental shift over time from an era of dominated by fossil fuel generation resources to one dominated by renewables, energy storage, and demand-side resources. This will result in a major transformation in how electricity markets function.
