Since 2017, Positive Energy Ltd.’s mission is to reimagine the energy funding process to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy assets globally. The financing of small to midsize projects is less profitable to investors than large scale projects due to high transaction costs. This phenomena has been even more visible since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis in 2020.

The energy transition is very high on the agenda of Europe’s ports. Being at the same time important economic players and mission driven entities, ports want to be a partner in decarbonising both port activities and the supply chain. Beyond that, ports can also contribute positively to a sustainable economy as clean energy hubs. While the core business of Europe’s ports remains to connect maritime and hinterland transport for goods and passengers in their function as crucial nodes in the supply chain, ports can play an instrumental role in Europe’s new energy landscape. Many ports have already taken concrete steps in that direction. Many others are exploring opportunities. The possibilities are very diverse, so are the ports

There is an urgent need to rethink the structure of the European energy system. The current geopolitical situation across the continent, combined with high dependency on imported natural gas, growing electricity demand, and consequently, higher bills for households and businesses needs the immediate attention of policymakers.

The decarbonization targets and the development of renewable and low carbon technologies are changing the electricity systems in UK and worldwide. The sustainable implementation of this changes in the energy markets can be achieved only if the consumers/ prosumers are rightly incentivised. Furthermore, the integration of the system, transmission and distribution network operators in the overall local energy portfolio is crucial for the successful and practical operation of the smart local energy systems (SLES).
Automakers and their suppliers have always faced a host of challenges, and this decade is no exception. There is an urgent need for answers to several trends: the increased consumer demand for EVs, legislation for reduced emissions, and the rise in urbanization. In fact, consumers and policymakers alike are calling for more sustainable and more advanced vehicles that do not compromise on performance or safety. Just this year, an EY survey of 13 developed nations indicated that 41% of those intending to buy a new vehicle in the year ahead would choose a BEV (battery electric vehicle), HEV (hybrid electric vehicle), or PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle).

In 1800, Alessandro Volta invented the first battery, which came to be known as the voltaic pile. It was the first device to provide a steady supply of energy. Batteries have come a long way since then. In the 1970s, lithium-ion batteries were commercialized for the first time. Now they are a crucial component in revolutionizing and enabling continued renewable penetration on the US electrical grid.
