Fostering Effective Energy Transition 2022 Edition

May 11, 2022

Fostering Effective Energy
The Energy Transition Index (ETI) has benchmarked
the progress of countries’ energy transition for
a decade on the three dimensions of the energy
triangle – economic development and growth,
energy security and access, and environmental
sustainability – and on the enabling environment
for transition. In view of the current volatile
macroeconomic and geopolitical environment,
however, a trend analysis from historical energy
data can currently provide only limited insights.
Hence, instead of the annual country energy
transition benchmarking report, this special 2022
edition builds on the ETI trends observed in recent
years to provide a perspective on the current
challenges affecting the transition, and highlights
priorities to supercharge it.

The Sustainable Data Center Transformation: Reducing Carbon Footprint with Liquid Immersion Cooling

whitePaper | May 19, 2022

Data centers leave a significant carbon footprint and, as the need for these mission critical facilities continues to surge, the current trajectory is toward increasing power use and greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gas emissions can contribute to extreme weather and put the health of our planet at risk. There is growing demand from both the public and industry to reduce the environmental impact of all businesses — sustainability has moved into the corporate domain and, due to regulations and the cost implications of reducing a carbon footprint, it can be a hot button issue.

Battery storage Stability for the energy transition

whitePaper | November 29, 2022

Renewables are expected to account for 80–90% of power generation globally by 2050. Due to their dependence on weather conditions, wind and solar power cannot provide constant baseload power during all hours of the day, and measures have to be taken to compensate for this intermittency. The good news is that such imbalances or fluctuations can be mitigated effectively using battery energy storage systems (BESSs).
