Dairyland Power announces new solar energy facility

Dairyland Power Cooperative announces a purchase agreement for a major solar energy facility in Jefferson County. The Cooperative is partnering with Ranger Power for the proposed 149 megawatt Badger State Solar Project. Plans are being made to build in the Towns of Jefferson and Oakland in Wisconsin. It will generate enough renewable energy to power over 20,000 homes and will create multiple construction jobs. Ranger Power is the developer of the project. They specialize in green energy sources, specifically solar power. President and CEO of Dairyland Power Cooperative Barbara Nick says, “Dairyland Power is always looking for innovative partners for renewable power and Ranger had the project, they had the expertise, they had the pricing and the term that fits with what our power supply planting needs are.
